Local food environments

A guide for local governments in Western Australia

The 'Local food environments: a guide for local governments in Western Australia' (the Guide) aims to improve the local food system and increase access to healthy food within the community.

By using The Guide, local governments can:

  • Create a Local Community Food Profile using local data on current trends, practices and policies across their natural, built, economic, social and cultural food environments that impact on community food access, and
  • Develop a strategic Local Food Action Plan that builds on existing assets, policies and priorities.

Strengthened partnerships, projects and policies are the intended outcomes.
